It’s a light agenda tonight for the Flagstaff City Council as e-bikes make their return to council chambers. Council will hold a follow-up discussion about allowing electric bicycles on the Flagstaff Urban Trail System. Back in June, council approved a series of revisions to the Flagstaff City Code to address e-bikes and e-scooters. Among other changes, the code revisions allow Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes on FUTS trails and sidewalks with two exceptions: the Nate Avery Trail and the Arizona Trail. Straw polls were conducted on the topic recently in the Transportation, Pedestrian Advisory and Bicycle Advisory commissions. The Pedestrian Committee allowed e-bikes on the Nate Avery, Arizona and FUTS trails by a 3-0-1 vote. The Bicycle Advisory committee voted for all three as well. However, the Transportation Committee voted against the Nate Avery trail, but agreed with the other two. The night session starts at 6 p.m.
