DPS is continuing to investigate Friday’s fatal pedestrian-vehicle accident in Yarnell. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office says Sergeant Dakota Brinkley was driving home in his work vehicle at the end of his shift. His normal patrol is around Yarnell. Brinkley hit 74-year-old Donna Gordon as she was crossing the street after dinner with friends at Gilligan’s Pizza and Bar in Yarnell. She was pronounced dead at the scene. DPS hasn’t released any information regarding the accident, as it’s still under investigation. Yavapai County Sheriff David Rhodes will be holding a community meeting Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the Yarnell Community Center at 22302 State Highway 89 in Yarnell. Supervisor Harry Oberg will also be in attendance. Community members have been asking for a crosswalk to be put in that area for a while. It’s possible ADOT could review the issue.
