The Strategic National Stockpile of personal protective equipment, or PPE’s is almost depleted. President Trump confirmed the news at his daily coronavirus briefing at the White House Wednesday. Coconino County Health officials have put out a call to regional, state and national health care entities to keep sending PPE’s and testing supplies, or facilities and hospitals in the county may run out. President Trump said Wednesday, “we have asked states where they have large manufacturers of different types of equipment, use those local factories, local plants and have it made directly, ship it right to the hospitals.” Even with continuous shipments from the stockpile coming in, it’s around half the amount they ordered so supplies shrink quickly. Flagstaff Medical Center has received donations from many places over the last few days, including from members of the community who are making masks, gowns and other supplies. That supply line will likely need to continue to not only FMC, but other health care facilities in the county.
