Day One “Catch 22” Suspect Arrested In Quartzite Monday

Yavapai Silent Witness’s Day One “Catch 22” suspect arrested in Quartzite. Fifty-year old Michael Chase of Sedona threatened to blow up a bank in the Village of Oak Creek in 2019. A Forest Service official made contact with Chase inside the bank and attempted to subdue him with pepper spray with minimal effect. A deputy arrived and tased Chase and he was arrested. Bomb squad members then searched the van and didn’t find any explosives. Quartzite Police received anonymous information Monday that Chase was in the area. A few hours after receiving the call, an officer located a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle Chase was driving. The officer pulled Chase over after noticing the license plate was covered and he made the stop. The officer confirmed the driver was Chase and he was taken into custody without incident. He is in the La Paz County Jail awaiting extradition back to Yavapai County.
