The quantity of COVID vaccines remains low, but it is expected to increase in the coming weeks. Health officials continue to tell the public if your group is ready to get vaccinated and all the appointments are filled, keep trying. The more vaccine comes in, the more spaces will open to set an appointment to get the shot. Flagstaff Medical Center says they have vaccinated over 23-hundred people, but most are staff and health care workers in the community. Northern Arizona Healthcare Chief Operations Officer Josh Tinkle says there will be more opportunities to get the vaccine soon. He says, “we started meeting last week to go through how to operationalize more community vaccination clinics, with a partnership with the local counties.” Tinkle adds, “we anticipate we will start sometimes in early February with those vaccinations in Coconino and Yavapai counties.” As for the spread of COVID-19, NAH officials say they are seeing cases where people have been in small groups and aren’t masking or social distancing. They say the best place to be is outside and distanced. They remind everyone to continue to wear your masks, social distance and wash and sanitize your hands.
