Cottonwood Police Arrest A Man For Drug Possession Found During A Traffic Stop

A traffic stop led to a drug arrest in Cottonwood Tuesday. Police say an officer pulled over a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Jesus Ruiz Hernandez for a traffic violation at around 2 p.m. During the stop, the officer requested a K9 unit to the scene to conduct a “free air sniff” because the officer suspected Hernandez had drugs in the vehicle. K9 “Kratos” alerted the officer to the vehicle. After a search officers found meth, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia inside. Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Yavapai County Detention Center for drug possession, possession of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
