A Cottonwood man was arrested after stealing a Jeep from the owner, who left it running in front of a local business. Police say 20-year-old Michael Dean May the Second jumped into a 2012 Jeep at arodn 12:30 p.m., after a 39-year-old Cottonwood man went into a business and left his vehicle running, because he was only going to be there a short time. The Jeep was unique because of the color and business logos on it. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials found the Jeep at a house in Cornville at around 2 p.m. The keys were found in May’s pocket and he was arrested. When asked if he had permission to take the Jeep, May told officers “Well, it was running.” He was booked on a charge of unlawful use of transportation, which is a felony.
