A Cornville woman was arrested early Monday morning after she went into a convenience store in Cottonwood and started yelling profanities and being disorderly, as well as kicking two police officers. Police say 42-year-old Sheri Lynn Martinez, entered a Cottonwood gas station at around 2 a.m. and started yelling and refused to leave. The clerk called police and she left the scene in her vehicle. Officers found Martinez a short time later. Based on their investigation, Martinez was driving drunk. She was then taken into custody and placed in back of the patrol car. When officers started talking to her, Martinez started swearing at them and then kicked two officers, breaking a part of the body camera on one of the officers. She was booked on two counts of aggravated assault and resisting arrest, DUI, criminal damage, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. Martinez is being held in the Yavapai County Detention Center.
