Cornville Man Arrested For Posing As A Roofer

Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials arrested a man in connection with doing work as an unlicensed contractor. Deputies were set to Russell Flats Road in Cornville regarding a fraud complaint. The victim told deputies he deposited over $19-thousand dollars with 35-year-old Seth Jackson from Cordes Lakes for a new roof. Jackson claimed he was a licensed contractor and the victim knew Jackson was associated with roofing companies in the past. He even started a business called “24/7 Roofing” with a Camp Verde address. When the structure was ready for roofing, Jackson never bought the materials needed to begin. Instead he bought a small trailer containing junk metal parts, claiming it was part of the project. As the lack of work continued, the victim had to repair and replace the felt roofing material due to the weather. After several months, Jackson admitted to using some of the money to cover issues related to personal problems, which violated the agreement. The victim reported Jackson to the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Jackson even texted the victim pictures of a home with a finished roof, but it wasn’t the victims. Jackson was arrested and booked last week on charges of suspect theft and working as an unlicensed contractor.
