Construction On State Route 89 Begins Tuesday In Chino Valley

ADOT crews will begin work on State Route 89 Tuesday at 6 a.m. to improve a section of the highway at the intersection of Road 1 North. The project will include the installation of a new traffic signal and traffic detection sensors at the intersection. Work will also include installing a right-turn lane on northbound Highway 89 to east Road 1 North, constructing a left-turn lane and widening Highway 89 at Road 1 North. ADOT will maintain two lanes of traffic on north and southbound Highway 89 during daytime hours. Drivers should plan for short-term lane closures for signal installation, roadway paving and striping during daytime operations of 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. No weekend or holiday work will be scheduled. Drivers should plan for round-the-clock phased closures of east and westbound access to Road 1 North and use signed detour routes for Road 1 North access. Also allow for extra time to get through the area and be prepared to slow down and use caution. The project is expected to last through December.
