Coconino, Yavapai, and Navajo counties have now met all three benchmarks to return to in-person teaching. The Arizona Department of Health released updated information today. The counties have met the benchmarks for less than 100 cases per 100-thousand households for two straight weeks, two straight weeks with percent positivity below seven percent and two straight weeks of COVID-like illnesses below ten-percent. The Flagstaff Unified School District last month set October 12th to begin in-person, teacher-led classroom instruction if the benchmarks are met and they receive assurance from county health officials that it’s safe to go back to in-person schoolroom teaching.
