The Flagstaff Eagles and Coconino Panthers were in action Friday night. The Eagles were on the road in Kingman to take on the Lee Williams Volunteers. The Vols turned two Chase Brown interceptions into touchdowns, and led 20-0 before Flagstaff got on the board on a touchdown pass from Brown to Jake Weidinger to make the score 20-7. Lee Williams would add a touchdown and a field goal to lead 30-7 at halftime. The second half wasn’t much different, however Tanner Reiff did return a kickoff 90-yards for a touchdown, but the Volunteers went onto win 63-19. The Eagles will try to get a win Friday when they travel to Cottonwood to battle the Mingus Marauders. Speaking of Mingus, they traveled to Flagstaff to take on the Coconino Panthers for Coconino’s homecoming. Coconino busted open the passing offense as junior quarterback Enoch Watson was 11-of-14 for 246 yards and two touchdowns. The Panthers scored early and often as they beat Mingus 46-8. Coconino is 1-1 in the region and will take on the Bradshaw Mountain Bears in Prescott Valley Friday night.
