The Coconino National Forest telling people to stay off Forest Road 700, even though it’s closed. Forest officials say a lot of time and money has been invested in improving the road to allow for important timber operations. Loads of aggregate are being placed on the road to be compacted, but the road is getting torn up thanks to people driving their OTV and ATVs on the road after illegally entering the area. Officials are telling people to stay out of that area until the work is completed. Those timber operations can’t move forward until the road is up to standards where trucks can access certain areas. The road is just off Interstate-17 off the Kelly Canyon Exit south of Kachina Village. Other Forest Roads that are currently closed are Forest Road 700H and Forest Road 6228.
