A large prescribed burn started three miles east of Kendrick Park Tuesday. Fire managers with the Coconino National Forest started to burn more than 25-hundred acres between Highways 89 and 180. The burn is cleaning the area of weeds and ground clutter that could be used to fuel a large wildfire had one started. Smoke is moving to the northeast. More burns are schedule in the coming days for areas of the Coconino National Forest.
