Coconino National Forest Begins Restrictions On Peaks Crag Just South Of Snowbowl

Read More News at >>

The Coconino National Forest is advising hikers of restrictions in place on a portion of the Peaks Crag cliff face, which is the southwest face of the San Francisco Peaks and on the way up Snowbowl Road. Restrictions are needed in order to protect peregrine falcons, which were once listed on the Endangered Species Act. Restrictions have already begun and will be effective until August 15th, with a slight chance of being lifted early in mid-July. The Coconino National Forest reminds hikers it is prohibited to be within the southern portion of Peaks Crag. To check for closures and updates, visit the U.S. Forest Service’s website.
