The Coconino Panthers had a tough time with the Peoria Panthers, but did lead start to finish as they beat the Peoria Panthers, 70-58 at home Tuesday. Coconino has been led by their guards for years, and that was the case against Peoria. Preston Olney led Coconino with 27 points, including 13-of-14 from the free throw line, and Jacob Begay added 21 in the win. Head coach Mike Moran said “we played well, we played solid and there was a time where we made a few mistakes, but overall we were solid again.” Peoria was led by Calvin Windley with 19 points and Corey Perry added 18 for Peoria. Coconino will try to make it 10-0 Friday when they take on Thunderbird in Phoenix.
