Coconino Falls To St. Mary’s In The 4A Semifinals In Phoenix

The fourth-seeded Coconino Panthers were tied at halftime with top-seeded St. Mary’s at 26 a piece, but the Knights put on a staunch full-court press in the second half to beat Coconino, 69-46 in the 4A semifinals. Preston Olney led the Panthers with 15 points and Jacob Begay added 12 in the loss. St. Mary’s had four players in double figures with junior center Jeremiah Cherry leading the way with 15 points in the win for the Knights. Coconino finishes the basketball season with a 16-2 overall record. St. Mary’s will play Paradise Honors in the 4A title game Saturday afternoon.
