Coconino County Requiring Face Coverings

Coconino County has issued a proclamation requires residents to wear a face covering when not able to physical distance themselves from other people. The proclamation was approved on Friday and it applies to all private lands in the unincorporated areas of the county, which includes Doney Park, Kachina Village and Munds Park. It does not include cities such as Williams and Page. County officials say in accordance with CDC guidelines, everyone older than two years old must wear a face covering while in the unincorporated areas of the county when in a public indoor space if another person is present, in public outdoor spaces if another non-household person is less than six feet away, when in public areas of any business or government building and when waiting in line indoors and outdoors. Face coverings will not be required for children under the age of two years old, or anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. Face coverings will not be required when at home, while eating or drinking, while swimming, while working alone in a workplace when social distancing, when alone in vehicle or in a vehicle with household members, or when exercising alone or with household members. To read the declaration, log onto the county’s website at coconino.az.gov/covid19.
