Coconino County health officials are expecting to receive the first shipment of the first COVID-19 vaccine in late December. The rollout in the county is anticipated to begin in early January. The first people to get the vaccine will be healthcare workers in phase one, with long-term care facility residents in phase 1A. Phase 1B is expected to include essential workers in transportation, education and childcare providers, as well as law enforcement and workers in water, energy and wastewater services. Phase 1C is expected to include adults 65 and over and any adults who have high-risk medical conditions. Health officials remind everyone to continue doing the preventions such as wearing masks, social distancing and washing your hands often. For more information, log onto coconino.az.gov/covid19vaccine.
