Coconino County Sheriff’s Office Receives Grant Award Of $2.5 Million on Friday

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office received a grant award Friday of $2.5-million from Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich. The new award will go toward Pathways to Community, a program partnered by the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office and Coconino County Health and Human Services. The program provides in-custody assessments of inmates as they enter jail to later assist their transition back into the community after serving their sentence. Right after being released from custody, they are provided with resources based on their specific needs. Coconino County Sheriff Jim Driscoll says, “We want people to improve their lives, access the resources they need, and in-turn, stay out of our jails.” He adds, “Pathways to Community is going to help make this possible for more people.”
