Coconino County Search and Rescue members have been busy the past few weeks. On October 23rd, search members along with Summit Fire and Medical crews responded to an injured hiker on the Humphrey’s Peak Trail. They were assisted by Arizona Snowbowl personnel to tend to a 57-year-old California woman with a leg injury. She was taken by UTV to an awaiting ambulance. On Monday, search and rescue members, along with Highlands Fire crews responded to the Pit climbing area near the Canyon Vista Campground on Lake Mary Road. A 23-year-old man fell around 40-feet while climbing and injured his back. He was carried out of the area to an awaiting ambulance. Then Monday night, search and rescue were called to the Cinder Lakes area for a 62-year-old transient who was overdue after a walk. The man was found at 2 a.m. Tuesday morning about three miles southeast of his camp. He was in good condition.
