Coconino County says there are 12 candidates who have qualified to fill the vacancy for District 2 Supervisor following the resignation of Liz Archuleta. The candidates are: Carmenlita Chief, Abel Estrella, Anthony Garcia, Jacqueline Gencarelle, Tommy Hernandez, Carole Mandino, Jesus Molina, Chad Moore, Bill Pribil, Jeronimo Vasquez, Joe Washington and Albert White. The Board of Supervisors will review applications Thursday during a special session at 6 p.m. and will conduct interview in a public forum Friday starting at 8 a.m. The board may select a candidate Friday following interviews or choose to continue the process. Public comment will be taken throughout the process. Comments can be submitted to the board at coconino.az.gov. The winning candidate will serve out Archuleta’s term, which ends in 2022. Archuleta resigned earlier this month to join the Biden Administration.
