Coconino County Manager James Jayne announced his retirement from county service Friday. His retirement will be effective July 2nd of 2021. Jayne joined Coconino County in 2017 and previously served as Navajo County Manager. On his retirement, Jayne says: “I am proud of my 30 years of public service at the federal, state and local government level that has afforded me a richness of community and a depth of service for which I will always be grateful.” The Board of Supervisors will develop a search process for the next county manager. After a selection is made, Jayne will continue serving in an advisory capacity and supporting the board and new manager until his retirement date.
