The Coconino County court system and detention facility are making adjustments because of the coronavirus pandemic. The county has released around 50 inmates being held on non-violent charges to help minimize a possible outbreak. At the detention center, all incoming inmates are being screened for health issues and for possible exposure to COVID-19. The jail is also suspending all face-to-face contact visits, however professional and legal visits will continue, but will take place by video. All volunteer programs that require physical entry into the jail, as well as the work furlough program, are suspended as well.
