Just like area forests, the City of Flagstaff and Coconino County have downgraded their fire restrictions to Stage Two as well. Stage Two fire restrictions means no use of charcoal, coal, smudge pots and wood stoves. Stoves or grills used by propane or other liquid petroleum can be used. However, portable fire-ring type of devices are prohibited in city parks. With Stage Two, Coconino County Parks and Recreation trails have reopened, including: Soldiers, Bridge, Two-Spot, Gold Digger, and Pumphouse Nature trails, and allowed access to the Highlands Trail, Flagstaff Loop Trail, and Harrenburg Wash, as well as Fort Tuthill. The city and county went back to Stage Two to coincide with the Coconino and Kaibab national forests reopening Tuesday morning.
