Coconino County Drops Mask Requirements In County Buildings And Facilities, But There Are Exceptions

Coconino County has dropped its mask requirements in county buildings and facilities. County officials announced Tuesday that due to new CDC guidelines, and now that the county is in medium level, the county will no longer require masks in its facilities, with some exceptions. Those exceptions are juvenile facilities and the Coconino County Jail, as well as the Coconino County Health and Human Services Clinic, will still require masks. Masks may also continue to be required in some CCHHS home visiting and congregate setting situations until Low Community Level is reached. Other facilities, such as the Superintendent of Schools Office, at the Ponderosa High School, follow the policies of the building owner, which in this case is the high school. County officials ask to please follow masking requirements on facilities as you approach them. The Facilities Management Department is working as quickly as possible to remove the small yellow signs that indicate a mask mandate, but the larger signs recommend masking to your comfort and risk level and will remain. If a customer, or employee, still wants to wear a mask in county buildings, officials ask the person’s decision be supported and respected.
