Coconino County has canceled around 18-hundred vaccine appointments due to delays in vaccine shipments due to extreme weather across the country. The county’s COVID-19 response team staff are working with vaccination partners to assess vaccine needed for scheduled appointments and transferring available vaccine to partners to limit appointment cancellations. The County was able to provide vaccines needed for appointments at all vaccination sites in Coconino County for Wednesday; however due to the prolonged delay and limited on-hand vaccine supply, Coconino County and some partner vaccination sites must cancel and reschedule first dose appointments scheduled for Thursday and Friday. Impacted vaccination sites are Fort Tuthill County Park, NAU, Northern Arizona Healthcare’s center at the Elks Lodge and North Country HealthCare. So far, Saturday’s first dose appointments are not affected. Those affected will be contacted directly by the vaccination site where they are scheduled. Individuals with first dose appointments at the Coconino County Fort Tuthill Vaccination site on Thursday and Friday will receive an email with instructions on rescheduling. At this time, no COVID-19 second dose appointments at Fort Tuthill or other vaccination sites are impacted.
