The City of Flagstaff is recommending treecycling your live Christmas Tree this year. Instead of taking your tree to the city landfill, residents with curbside service can place their tree curbside Monday. The city’s solid waste service will pick up the trees throughout the city through January 8th. All tinsel, lights and ornaments need to be removed before placing the tree on the curb. You can also take your tree to the Old Public Works Yard at 419 North Mogollon Street or the Continental Little League Field at 57-hundred East Old Walnut Canyon Road. The Treecycling Program extends the short life-span of the fresh-cut trees. They are chipped and used as mulch and other beneficial uses at the landfill.
