Christmas tree permits are going on sale soon in the Coconino National Forest. Officials say a limited number of over-the-counter permits will be sold to the public starting on Friday, November 22nd. A total of 12-hundred permits will be available at 15-dollars each. This year the Flagstaff Ranger Station will be selling 150 permits for pinyon and juniper within two designated Christmas tree cutting areas of the Flagstaff Ranger District and 100 permits for fir, pinyon pine and ponderosa pine in the Mogollon Rim Ranger District. The Mogollon Ranger Station will have 550 permits for areas within that district and permits will also be sold from the forest supervisors office for both Flagstaff and Mogollon ranger districts. A limited number of permits will be sold at the Red Rock Ranger District. Permits are first come, first served until sold out.
