Chino Valley Police Officer Flown To Phoenix After An Accident Tuesday Morning

A Chino Valley Police officer was seriously injured in a traffic accident this morning. Police say the accident took place in the 500-block of North State Route 89 at around 7:52 a.m. The officer was headed southbound on Highway 89 in a fully marked 2017 Ford Explorer. A 2017 Jeep Liberty was slowed due to traffic. The officer rear-ended the Jeep. The officer was stabilized on scene and flown to a Phoenix area hospital for treatment. He is listed in stable condition. The driver of the Jeep was treated on-scene and was released. The cause of the accident is under investigation and impairment is not suspected in the accident.
