Chino Valley Police continue to look for a burglary suspect. Officers responded to a call back on October 16th at around 11:30 a.m. in the 12-hundred block of Essex Way. A homeowner reported she heard her dog barking and went to investigate. She confronted the burglar in her kitchen. The man chased her into her bedroom and pushed her against a wall before leaving out a backdoor. The victim suffered cuts to her leg when a large picture fell off the wall, breaking the glass frame. The victim’s young child was also home at the time and was unharmed. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s to 30s with a thin build with light brown hair, wearing work boots, blue jeans and a white or cream colored Nike pullover type sweatshirt. Detectives believe the suspect may have been working in the neighborhood prior to the burglary. Police are requesting anyone who has security cameras to review the footage from that day to see if they see anything suspicious. Yavapai Silent Witness is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. If anyone has information on the suspect, or the crime, contact Chino Valley Police at (928) 636-4223 or Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232.
