Police say the 55-year-old man was traveling west on Highway 69 just west of the Walker Road intersection at around 1 p.m. For an unknown reason, he crossed left of center, hitting the left rear corner of a vehicle heading eastbound. He then veered further left, hitting the right side of another eastbound vehicle before hitting a fourth vehicle head on. Passengers of several vehicles, including one that was in the car with the man, were all transported to local hospitals for treatment. The driver was transported in critical condition, but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
