A Chino Valley man was arrested over the weekend for drunk driving that resulting in an accident in Prescott. Prescott Valley officers were patrolling Prescott streets while Prescott Police were attending their annual awards banquet on Saturday. At around 8:10 p.m. officers responded to the accident around Willow Creek Road and Gail Gardner in Prescott. Officers located the 59-year-old James Pike driving an older model Chevrolet pickup truck and stopped it on northbound Willow Creek Road at Pulliam Drive. Officers attempted to keep Pike from fleeing by positioning their vehicles in front and behind the truck. As officers got out of their vehicles, Pike accelerated into one of the vehicles on the passenger side, injuring an officer and causing a lot of damage to the vehicle. Pike continued to accelerate his truck until officers got him out of the vehicle and placed him into custody. He was charged with numerous felonies connected to the incident.
