A Chino Valley man was arrested Monday after witnesses saw him abusing two pit bulls. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the area in the 24-hundred block of North Resting Place. The caller told dispatch 34-year-old Bryan Ellis had returned to a property that he was restricted to go to, and was in violation of his release from jail. While deputies were on scene, they received reports Ellis was abusing two dogs nearby. Deputies caught up to Ellis and detained him. He told deputies his two pit bulls got out and he was chasing them. Witnesses told deputies they saw Ellis throwing one dog to the ground and the other had been dragged. Both dogs have been found and are being treated. Ellis was booked on charges of animal cruelty and a judicial process violation. He remains in the Camp Verde Detention Center without bond.
