A man was arrested last week in Prescott after a concerned citizen called police regarding a suspicious person. Police say 29-year-old Nicholas Kimball from Chino Valley was at the Shell Station in the 13-hundred block of Iron Springs Road Thursday at around 10:44 a.m. He had pulled into the parking lot in a pickup truck and stopped at one of the pumps. The citizen told police he started to unload things from his truck and was pacing back and forth. He went into the store several times to buy different items, but his card was declined. Clerks contacted Police after he wouldn’t leave after an hour. When an officer arrived, he noticed the handle of a revolver sticking out of Kimball’s front pants pocket. Kimball started to walk away and was then detained by the officer. The officer grabbed a .22 caliber revolver from him and found marijuana after a search. Officers found ammunition and multiple knives on Kimball as they arrested him. In the vehicle, officers found a fully-loaded Ruger SR762 308 caliber semi-automatic rifle, a load-bearing vest with three additional magazines for the rifle. Officers also found a green bag and a bed roll, which contained a loaded .22 rifle, a 30/30 lever action rifle and ammunition. Earlier in the day, Kimball was seen placing a fully-loaded 1911 .45 caliber handgun behind a trash dumpster. He was booked on multiple charges and hasn’t told officers why he had so many guns and why they were placed in strategic locations. The incident is under investigation.
