Five adults and three kids were removed from a dangerous situation last week in Chino Valley. While police were investigating a case involving a stolen motorcycle last Thursday, they found numerous illegal items inside a home on the 200 block of Hohokam Drive. Detectives found marijuana, meth and related drug paraphernalia. Some of the meth was in plain sight on a table in the living room, along with three kids ages five, six and seven. A hidden compartment was also found in the children’s closet as numerous used hypodermic needles were found among the kid’s toys and belongings. Arrested were the children’s grandfather, 55-year-old Dennis Craft and their mother, 28-year-old Kyra Craft. Officers also arrested 26-year-old Misty Wentz, who is the girlfriend of 19-year-old Jeremiah Marrs, who is the suspect in the stolen bike case. Another person contacted during the investigation was also arrested and was released. All four suspects arrested face drug charges, as well as burglary and theft counts. The children were removed from the home by Department of Child Safety and the family dog was impounded at an area shelter.
