Charge Added To A Fentanyl Dealer After A Supply Of Pills Were Recovered During A Booking Search

A fentanyl dealer was arrested last week in Cottonwood. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say 44-year-old Jerry Allen was stopped for a moving violation in Cottonwood. Allen was under investigation after he was linked to the sale of fentanyl pills. He was taken into custody after he admitted to participating in the sale. During a follow up interview, Allen claimed he didn’t use or sell fentanyl. After detectives showed him evidence of sales, he then admitted personal use daily for the last few months and occasional sales. During booking, he read and signed a notice warning that taking drugs into the jail is a violation. During a pre-body scanner screening of Allen, detention officers recovered a baggie containing 73 fentanyl pills from inside him. Allen has been charged with three counts of possession of narcotic drugs for sales, possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting prison contraband.
