The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information into a hunting incident near Tusayan Tuesday. Deputies were called to an area of Forest Road 328 at around 8:30 p.m. on a report of a conflict. Authorities say a bowhunter was returning to his vehicle when he was approached by a dark-colored truck with three white males inside. The three approached the bowhunter and asked what his problem was. The conversation escalated and the bowhunter walked away. The truck began to follow the hunter down a sideroad, so he ran away from the truck and hid down an embankment. The bowhunter reported hearing between six and eight gunshots from the direction of the truck. After hearing gunshots, he ran from the area. Deputies were unable to find the vehicle. It is a black, or dark-colored, full-sized truck, diesel powered truck, possibly a Chevy, four-door or extended cab. It has a matching in color camper shell with a rack on top of the shell. It has an LED light bar on the cab and possibly a fog light burnt out of the front of the truck. If anyone has information on the truck, call the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office a (928) 774-4523, or Silent Witness at (928) 774-6111.
