The search for a missing Tucson fisherman in Oak Creek Canyon has sadly come to an end, when searchers found him dead Wednesday afternoon. Coconino County Sheriff’s officials were looking for 64-year-old Christopher Straub, who was last seen at Orchard Canyon Resort in the canyon at around 4 p.m. Tuesday. He left a cabin on the property, on foot, and headed to Oak Creek to fly fish. He was expected to be gone about two hours and return back to the cabin. Straub never returned. At around 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, Straub’s body was found by Yavapai Search and Rescue K-9 near the resort and along the creek in thick overgrowth. The cause of death is still under investigation, but nothing suspicious was found at the scene.
