The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office fielded over 12-hundred calls over the Labor Day Weekend. From Friday through Monday, deputies responded to 1,228 calls for service, compared to 822 during the previous weekend. On Monday, deputies also assisted Arizona Game and Fish with multi-agency litter enforcement detail, in which they issued 33 citations. Of the over 12-hundred calls, 430 were forest and community patrols, 165 traffic stops and 102 business checks. There were 37 fire related calls, which ranged from fire ban violations to structure fires and 37 vehicle collisions. There were also 13 Search and Rescue calls, including two lost hikers on Humphreys Peak Monday night. Both were found safe. Also, 79 people were booked into the Flagstaff and Page detention facilities, with 33 of the bookings for felony charges.
