Deputies and Search and Rescue crews with the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office were busy over the weekend. Deputies received 73 motorist assist calls, 38 traffic accidents, 13 of which were in CCSO jurisdictions, 19 public assist calls and seven calls for Search and Rescue. Those calls include: motorist assists on Lake Mary Road and Stoneman Lake Road, five adults had to be extracted from Forest Road 110 on the Kaibab National Forest south of Williams. Also a snowshoer who fell and injured himself east of Munds Park, extraction of several adults in the Kendrick Park area and Stoneman Lake area. Deputies also spent a significant amount of time addressing snowplay issues in Flagstaff, Parks and the Williams areas. Remember: In the event roadways are bad, stay home if you can. If travel is necessary, ensure you have the necessary items with you in your vehicle, and plenty of fuel.
