A Camp Verde man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Cottonwood. Cottonwood Police responded to an area of the Black Canyon Day Use Area off State Route 260 in the early morning this past Sunday. Authorities say a 36-year-old male called 911 to report he was stabbed several times in the stomach. He fled into the river and thought the suspect was looking for him. Investigators revealed 32-year-old Christopher Ogle of Camp Verde stabbed the victim after the two got into an altercation. Ogle, the victim and three others were travelling in the save vehicle from Cottonwood to Camp Verde to buy alcohol. The victim and suspect got into an argument so the driver pulled over. After the stabbing, Ogle fled the scene, but was later located and arrested. He was booked into the Yavapai County Detention Center for felony aggravated assault. The victim was treated for his injuries and was later released from an area hospital.
