Prescott Valley Police are encouraging residents to install and use surveillance cameras and motion-activated lights to help deter criminals. Officials say Thursday at around 4:30 a.m., an unidentified man was seen on video, trying to open the door of a vehicle parked in a driveway of a home in the 62-hundred block of North Moonlight Drive. Since the door was locked, he went to another vehicle in the driveway. Doing so, kicked on the motion light and the man ran away. Police say the crime didn’t occur because the vehicles were locked, cameras were installed and the motion light turned on. If anyone has information about the incident, contact Prescott Valley Police at (928) 772-9267 or Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232.
