Bradshaw Mountain, Flagstaff Combine For Over 1,100 Yards As The Bears Beat The Eagles 49-32

Scoring and offense were not a problem for both Bradshaw Mountain and Flagstaff Friday night as both teams amassed over 11-hundred yards of total offense. However, it was the Bears that got more stops on defense en route to a 49-32 win over the Eagles in Prescott Valley. Eagles sophomore quarterback Chase Brown had his best game as a high school quarterback. Brown was 20-for-27 for 412 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. Brown tied his own school record for completions in a game and broke his own school record for most passing yards in a game in the loss. Junior running back Jayden Wetzel was equally as impressive. He rushed for 117 yards on 21 carries for a touchdown, but he was also the Eagles leading receiver with seven catches for 133 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Wetzel went over 1,000-yards rushing for the season on his first carry of the game. The Bears were without senior running back Gabe Ricketts, but it didn’t matter. The Bears still rushed for over 500 yards in the game, led by sophomore Kylin Jackson. He had 207 yards rushing on just nine carries and scored three touchdowns. The Bears will play Lee Williams next Friday in Kingman with the region title on the line. The Eagles will finish their season against Coconino in the Skydome.
