BNSF Train Derails Sunday Afternoon Near Winslow

Multiple cars of a BNSF freight train derailed near Winslow Sunday afternoon. BNSF officials say the train derailed east of Winslow near Hibbard Road, just off Interstate-40 at around 2 p.m. The train was carrying consumer goods. There were no injuries or hazardous materials associated with the incident. The westbound Amtrak train was held up in Albuquerque due to the derailment. Crews are working to clear the site and the incident is under investigation.
