Flagstaff Man Arrested After He Exchanged Gunfire With Law Enforcement Officials In Parks

There were tense hours Tuesday morning in Parks. Coconino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Archers Road in Parks at around 3:25 a.m. on a report of yelling and gunshots. When deputies arrived, shots were fired at them from a male at the home. Authorities say the suspect appeared agitated and deputies tried to verbally de-escalate the situation. Meanwhile, other officials made contact with neighbors to secure the area. The suspect, 41-year-old Daniel Cluse of Flagstaff, moved inside and outside the home, continuing to fire multiple weapons. He fired again at officers, who returned fire. After about an hour, Cluse was partially compliant and deputies were able to disarm him and take him into custody. He was transported for medical evaluation. There were no others in the house and there were no other injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
