Ashfork Man Airlifted After Being Partially Ejected From Vehicle In Chino Valley Wednesday

An Ashfork man was airlifted in critical condition after a single vehicle rollover collision on State Route 89 in Chino Valley Wednesday. Chino Valley Officers responded to the scene at mile marker 332 at around 12:31 p.m. where they found an extremely damaged maroon 2001 Ford F250 in a dirt field on the east side of State Route 89. The 55-year-old driver of the vehicle seemed to be partially ejected from the vehicle, leaving him in critical condition. Further investigation showed the vehicle was travelling northbound along State Route 89 when the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons. When the vehicle left the road, it continued off the shoulder of the road and into barbed wire fencing before hitting trees and overturning. The vehicle came to a stop upright in the middle of a dirt field. State Route 89 was closed in both directs for over half an hour to allow a helicopter to land on the roadway. The investigation is ongoing, so the name of the driver will be held pending the notification to his family.
