Arrests Were At A Minimum After A Tame “Tequila Sunrise” Early Saturday Morning In Downtown Flagstaff

NAU’s homecoming has come and gone. Fans filled the Skydome for Saturday’s football game, lined the parade route, filled the Skydome parking lots and filled downtown bars for “Tequila Sunrise.” The event is a time-honored tradition connected to homecoming at NAU. “Tequila Sunsrise” didn’t take place last year due to the COVID pandemic and with the football season being canceled. As for trouble surrounding the event, there were very few arrests, according to Flagstaff Police. Officials say events on campus, like the carnival Friday and the parade Saturday morning, kept the event’s attendance lower than in previous years. There were no reports of any fights or assaults connected to this year’s event.
