Arizona is becoming a hot spot for COVID-19. State health officials say there were nearly 16-hundred new positive cases of the virus Wednesday, with 25 new deaths recorded. It took almost a month to reach 15-hundred cases of COVID-19 in the state back when data was first starting to be collected. The total number of positive cases in the state is just below 30-thousand with nearly 417-thousand tested. In Yavapai County, there are nine new cases Wednesday, but there are 15 new reported recoveries. There are two people currently hospitalized in Yavapai County with COVID-19, both are at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott. In Coconino County, there is one new death and 15 new cases reported Wednesday. There are 24 people currently hospitalized in the county as COVID-19 positive, with 13 of them currently being cared for at Flagstaff Medical Center as of Wednesday morning.
