Arizona Up Over Ten-Thousand Cases Of COVID-19 After Record Testing Day Thursday

Arizona now has over ten-thousand positive cases of COVID-19. According to Friday’s report, the state now has 10,526 positive cases of the coronavirus, adding a record 581 since Thursday. Arizona also set a new high in deaths reported in a single day with 67, raising that total to 517. Health officials say 35 of those are from death certificate surveillance dating back to last month. Arizona also set a new high in tests reported with 8,821 as results from last Saturday’s blitz come in. With the higher numbers, the percentage of positive tests to number of tests continues to fall. Today’s percent is down to 7.4-percent, which is down two-tenths of a percentage from Thursday. There are now 945 cases in Navajo County, 671 cases in Apache County, 635 cases in Coconino County and 175 in Yavapai County. Another testing blitz is set for tomorrow across the state. Check your local health and human services website for locations near you.
